How'd they bend that?

Staircrafters utilizes two different techniques when bending railing.  The first technique dubbed "steam bending" is a more time consuming process of bending the wood through a series of "steaming sessions".

For this case Staircrafters used a glue/lamination process dubbed Bendi Rail.

A good view of the radius that the cap and railing will follow.

This Bendi-Railing system allows us to create a jig system on the spot.

The greatest benefit to building these "on the spot jigs" is that it allows us to mimic the real radius of the case.

Once the railing is glued and clamped into place we wait for a few days to allow for drying and forming.

After the drying process the railing and cap are ready to be installed by our knowledgable crew.
